Complete Multiple Industry Hx services:
Reconditioning, repairing and serving plate heat exchangers is a method of renewing the thermal transfer efficiency and extending the life of this equipment. CMI provides the most complete service and refurbishment for all models and types of Plate and Frame Heat Exchangers. We service both large and small Hx equipment for the Power Generation, Mining, HVAC, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, and other industries across the western United States.
Client On-site cleaning:
On-site high pressure cleaning when client and application appropriate is available. Hx plates are cleaned by high pressure water jet to remove fouling and particulates from plate surfaces. Residuals are cleaned up and removed from the job site.
Heat exchanger opening, plate removal, crating, inspecting, shipping and re-installation/closing is also available on the job site. Together with on-site installation. CMI provides operational assessment, start-up and check-out services to insure your equipment is running “right” before we ever leave your job. When economical, entire Hx Frame/plates unit removal and freighting to our Plant facilities is also available.
Technical and Consultative services:
At CMI, we support our heat exchanger service with a wide service of maintenance and technical services to keep your equipment performing optimally. We provide the diligent pursuit of all methods, techniques and improvements to elevate our client’s Hx equipment to the highest thermal efficiencies while lowering overall maintenance costs. Our services help keep your equipment: free of component failure, devoid of dirt, debris, fouling, contamination and corrosion.
Heat Exchanger Plate Cleaning:
Fouling, mineralization and deposits that build up on Hx plates can vary in composition. With our in-plant chemical cleaning and processing, most types can be removed by chemical immersion in a series of chemical acid baths. If required, we also use other highly specialized methods for complete cleaning. Residuals are appropriately processed and disposed under our licenses according to all Federal, State and local regulations.
Gasket Removal and Re-gasketing:
Hx gasketed plates are high pressure washed and then immersed in a heated caustic bath to efficiently and cleanly separate all gasket material from the plates. Replacement gaskets are selected from stock and applied to the plates, cured and then stacked.
Inspection and testing:
All Hx processed plates are carefully and completely inspected, assessed and inventoried. Excessively corrosive or intense applications may create minute pinholes, deformaties or cracks not visible to the eye. When initial assessment indicates, these type of flaws are processed by additional special methods where: plates sprayed with a dye penetrant and then inspected under ultraviolet light or with a developer to complete one level of our inspection. Integrity testing of each Hx plate is completed to insure highest quality control.
Heat Exchanger Frame & Hardware complete mechanical repairs & restoration:
On certain equipment when it is cost-effective, we provide complete Hx frame, support and hardware repairs and restoration work to return the equipment as close as possible to the original factory new status.
Hi-Track digital Hx service monitoring and reporting system:
Historical service data is entered into CMI “Hi-Track” preventative maintenance & analysis program. This program includes a high value digital photo record and follow-up cost-analysis summary reports to help management make better informed “allocation” decisions.
Assurance and warranty:
No equipment lasts forever, even the best designed equipment will eventually deteriorate over time where productivity suffers and costs increase. CMI warrantied reconditioning and maintenance services for plate heat exchangers come with a “as-good-as-new” guarantee. At CMI we have proven record for “cost-effective” reliable results.
A Full Line of Stripping Solutions:
At CMI we use a full line of non-abrasive submersion techniques to clean a wide spectrum of metal surfaces. We remove everything from the metal surface including rust, undercoat, adhesive and durable epoxy and urethane paints, leaving nothing but the base material. CMI has the ability to strip everything “auto” including aluminum rims, gas tanks, fenders, hoods and deck lids, full car bodies and motor blocks. Also serving the industrial community, our process is effective removing oil and carbon build up from large industrial housing, engine components, oil coolers, pump housings, manufacturing components and conveyors screens. CMI has the capability to remove tough powder coat and epoxies form aluminum and magnesium without damage to the base metals, protecting the sensitive tolerances found in the aerospace industry. CMI has aggressive solvents that can clean debris and foreign materials from all types of cavities including sensitive old coolers and reservoirs that are held under strict tolerances. Though the use of controlled acids we also provide stainless passivation as well and are willing to construct new methods of striping to suite your companies needs.
